Where to give
JYM has been back on the ground since summer 2021 and we currently have a great group of students who are enjoying life in Munich while adhering to COVID-19 requirements. Due to the ongoing effects of the pandemic, however, our enrollment numbers (and thus our income) are still down from pre-pandemic levels.
Please help us to continue to address the present and plan for the future by giving to one of these funds (from the dropdown menu) to help us to balance our budget in the wake of the pandemic.
- Söder and Ferguson Next Generation Fund an endowed program-support fund generously established by Steve Stambaugh (class of '71-72) to honor past Program Director, Dr. Mark Ferguson and Resident Director, Dr. Hans-Peter Söder
- Junior Year in Munich Annual Operating Fund
About scholarships
Ever since the Junior Year in Munich Program awarded its first scholarship in 1954, many students have depended on scholarship assistance to help finance their participation in the program.
JYM has two types of scholarship funds. Gifts to endowed scholarship funds are added to their principal so that the endowments grow. As the endowments increase over time, so too does the amount of scholarship assistance available. Gifts to annual scholarships are supported by annual gift-giving. The number and amount of annual scholarship awards we can distribute depend entirely on the number of donations received each year.
Planned gifts and legacy giving
After you've made plans to care for your family and loved ones, please consider a legacy gift through your estate plans that will transform the lives of future JYM students for years to come. Wayne State University can assist you as you consider planned giving opportunities that will directly and exclusively benefit the JYM program and its students, including:
- A bequest in a will or trust
- Publicly traded stocks or bonds
- Life-income gifts
- Retirement fund assets
- Life insurance
- Charitable lead trusts
