Experiential learning

Students are strongly encouraged to take part in an internship or pursue an independent research project during their time in Munich. While these projects require initiative and discipline, they also result in additional development of linguistic and intercultural skills.

Internships

The Junior Year in Munich Program draws upon its many connections in Munich to help students find internships in the Spring-Summer semester.

Research and creative projects

Defined as "one of the highest achievements of undergraduate student learning" by the Forum on Education Abroad, independent research has long been a core feature of the Junior Year in Munich program. To take full advantage of the opportunities that Munich has to offer, students are encouraged to develop projects with a home mentor already before they come to Munich and to enroll in JYG 4900: Undergraduate Research Project, where they will receive guidance while they are here.
